Dreaming of putting some power in that step?

starting from the bottem working my way to the top scetch i have been planing out how my character will walk. In this walk his power center is his head, this is also his biggest feature.

(children's heads in a lot of animation's and animated films get bigger in comparasen to the body, this brings more focas on the over expretional faces)

his arm leads him throw but its his head that will be pulling him allong or at least thats the way i currently see it. when i animate i might find that his arm pulls him forward but thinking about it now it could even be his shoulders, ok now im just thinking to much on here so any way leave your comments and what do u think will lead and why?

  1. Good strong pose, but I feel like the legs are a little long - perhaps if he was older, but maybe not for a three year old. Good expression.

  2. Trent. Study some toddler walking video reference.

This actually looks like an 'up' position pose. It is well drawn (solid drawing) with a good line of action.

In a contact pose make the front leg straight with the contact on the heel. A toddler usually has quite a short stride length with their big head wobbling from side-to-side.

Try a comparison pose with the front leg straight and similar line of action. the back foot heel can then be raised with the energy pushing off the back foot.

Your descriptions and thoughts are good as it shows you are critically analysing and observing what you have drawn. I like seeing the prgression through the drawing stages.
